Test Criteria and Options - Epson Energy Savings Calculator

The Epson Energy Savings Calculator provides a comparison of estimated power consumption of select thermal, hybrid, and impact Epson POS printers and select competitors’ POS models.

The power consumption projection calculation is based on a projection of measured performance of an average from 3 printer samples (except for Beiyang BTP-M280 and Toshiba Tec TRST-A12 which are evaluated from 1 unit and Aures ODP-200H which is evaluated from 2 units). For single station printers, the model assumes printing 300 receipts a day over a 16 hour day with power on 24 hours/day. For hybrid units, the model assumes printing 300 receipts and 30 checks a day over a 16 hour day with power on 24 hours/day. Receipt size is approximately 8 inches. The average energy consumption of the tested printers can then be multiplied by a number of installed units you select up to 100,000.

Competitors' information was obtained using publically available information or through testing completed in Epson labs and has not been verified by a third party.

A default for kilowatt/hour energy costs of $ .10 is based on the national average found at the US Energy Information Association:
